Pro-Am
In 1983, the 2oth Century Club joined with the Moundbuilders Country Club
and the Newark High School golf team to host the first Pro-Am Invitational
Golf Tournament. The tournament has been held annually since its inception.
The tournament combines club professionals
from around the state and PGA handicapped
amateurs. One professional and four amateurs constitute a team. Although this
is an invitational tournament, interested participants should contact Larry
McIntyre at the Moundbuilders Country Club for information.
Cash awards are given to the professionals, and "pro shop" gift certificates are given to the winning amateurs.
Donations from local merchants, health care providers, and community members help generate between $9,000 and $10,000 each year. The proceeds for this tournament are exclusively for the benefit of Camp O'Bannon.
